Meaning of Baptism

Baptism Procedure

Questions for candidates before the day of baptism :

  • Do you desire to be baptized?
  • Why do you want to be baptized?
  • Will baptism save you; allow you to go to heaven?
  • If you die before you are baptized, can you still go to heaven?
  • When you sin, whom are you sinning against?
  • What is sin? Do you sin?
  • What must you do to be saved?
  • Why should God let you go to heaven?
  • How do you know if you are saved? (How do you know that what you believe is true?)
  • Why did Jesus die? Who is Jesus?
  • Do you know for sure that if you were to die tonight that you would go to heaven?
  • Suppose you did die tonight & God says "Why should I let you into my heaven, what do you think you would say to Him?

You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder.
James 2:19

For a professing believer :

What fruit/evidence have you seen in your life since you were saved? ( Their walk : enjoys using their gifts, enjoys being involved with other believers, etc.)

And by this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. The one who says, "I have come to know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him: the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked. I Jn 2:3-6

At the time of baptism :
